gsr eg rod bearing question????

gsr eg rod bearing question????
i have a 93 cx hatch gsr swap. fresh swap the motor is a 99 w/ about 60,000 miles, my question is i can hear my rod bearing or something to that affect hitting and i just swapped my motor and it only happened after i wired vtec, my friend had the same exact problem w/ his 92 cx hatch gsr swap his rod broke, has anyone had this happen to them or can someone explain, thanks!!!
