The 2004 "Type-R" that is coming to the US will be re-baged as the "SiR".

Civic Type-R I assume? Have anything to back this up? Not that I don't believe you, just wanted to see where you got it.

no, i think its still going to be named the type r, why owuld it come as si-r , when si-r are for the other markets. i never trust tv shows.

 

I read it in an old issue of Import Tune. It will come stock with 200hp, 0-60 in 6.5. Thats just what i read so don't flame me if the info is not accurate. AND it will MAYBE be here in 2004.

Nah he's right, I read the same thing that if the CTR hits the states, Honda has lead on that it would most likley be rebadged an SiR

 

Then what about Canadian markets? We are already getting the SiR hatchback. So would that mean...if we get the Type R then it would be still called the Type R?

 

That's what this article said yes. But then again, Honda has been known to spew some fishy information before the release of a model just to throw everybody off so.. who knows?

 

well, since in japan, the integra is HONDA, and so is the Civic, theyre both type-r's.....since in the USDM we have honda and acura, type-r is known as an acura product, so if they put it on a honda, it would look odd to unknowing consumers.....at least thats what i think

 

Motor Trend said the samething....WILL NOT believe anything about the CTR coming to the US unil i see it in person or on a more reputiable source such as a Press Relase from Honda of America.

Notice the suede seats with the infamous RED stiching (Type-R).

 

That pic of the SiR (Toronto Auto Show Pic) is the equal to the Si in the states. They also come with the black seats with red stitching.

Hey...that motor is on the wrong side!! (I know, I know...it's weird though).

I think I'm going to go test drive that car when I see it at my local Honda.
