Default vtec?

i just converted my car from auto to 5sp i bought a gsr tranny.....and i still have my stock ls engine in there.....and i was wonderin if id be able to hook up vtec to it to make ls vtec.....what would i need to do this and how much would it cost around.

Wow, you need to search. There are hundreds of posts about that. It involves swaping out your whole cylinder head and running some wires to a different ecu.

Yep, but I'm thinking that the original poster doesn't know exactly how the LS/Vtec works, thus he doesn't know exactly what to search for. As BlackLudeSi said, it involves swapping in a Vtec head from a Vtec equipped B-series car. These can include the GSR, Civic Si, the Integra Type R, or any of the non-USDM Vtec variants that exist.

Do a search for "lsvtec" or anything with those terms in it for more details. Note that the search feature won't take two character words.

but its still better than non-vtec trannies

my lsv conversion cost me about 2500 total, and that because i already had the head, that and i upgraded my valve train and cams.
ive said once and ill say it again...do it, and do it right the first time.

b16 over gsr tranny??? hell no u must be crazy. i know that b16 has faster in acceleration, but in the freeway its weak!!

theres no gearing difference, it just has lsd and more syncros.

yea! LSD! Looking if your trying to do a LS-vtec your going to have to search... Its the only way your going to learn anything about what Head to put on. There are so many Topics about this just like you, someone has DONE this before. goto Search "LS-Vtec". "Head Swap". W/e! it comes up. You can use a B18 head or a B16 its all about what the hell your looking for. so Search trust me it helps.

the Reason I have no posts is because I always find the Topics.
