*HELP* 92 accord gas tank door will not open

*HELP* 92 accord gas tank door will not open
the cable for the release is working fine,but it wont pop the door open,i cant tell if something is missing or not,a pic would be great or any help. ive tried searching on a few honda parts websites but had no luck there. thanks guys.

I've got the same problem w/ my '92. I pull the release and then use the metal part of my key to pry the door open. Quite easy actually.

L0L thats exaclty what im doing and yes it does work fine,but im just curious why its not popping open,normal wear and tear??

The most likely reason the door is not "popping" open is the spring is probably missing or broken. It is a little tiny spring.... P Adams can probably link you to a picture of it. Cheap too.

on the inside of the gas tank door there is a little spring that is supposed to push the door open when u release it, u can bend it out so that is will push the door harder open, don't bend it to where it breaks off though
