Default Shimmed Oil Pump, Cam Seals Leaking. Could there be to much oil pressure?

I had the machine shop shim my oil pump. After the motor went back together. I have changed about 4 cam seals, and they still keep leaking. I cant figure out what it is. I was wondering if maybe the shimmed oil pump is causing to much oil pressure and causing the motor to **** out the oil at the cam seals. Does this sound like it makes sense?

The motor is 12:5 compression
Skunk pro 1 cams
82mm bore
89mm stroke

I dont really get any blow by. i have a catch can, and its not filling up, plus the spark plugs are always clean. i check them like almost every day.

you probably have excessive crankcase pressure at high rpm's, high oil pressure isnt going to blow out the cam seals

Well here is the thing.

It leaks like crazy from idle. I dont even have to drive it. I can get brand new seals, and start up the car, and it will start to leak once the car is started.

The only excessive leaker I had like that was the result of some galling on the cam cap walls from a seal replacement once upon a time by another shop. Maybe someone went for the "jam a screwdriver in there and twist" technique for cam seal removal before you got the engine...I can't think of anything else.

is it leaking from where the seal makes contact with the head, or where it slides om the cam? are you using hondabond on the seal where it makes contact with the head and the cam cap? are you using oem honda seals?

OEM Honda Seals
Hondabond on the outside of seal.
I am not sure if its leaking from the middle or outside. Thing is, it did it with stock cams, and my brand new skunk 2 pro 1 cams. I really dont think its the middle

The seal is not really pressurized. There is a relief hole between the cam journal and the seal in the cap.You could try increasing this relief hole or add another relief hole. This may be a crutch but still may correct your symptom.

try an aftermarket cam seal like golden eagle or the like.

I believe he is talking about the gear end seals.

I guess I will give that a shot. I dont really have any other choice. The motor is fully built and I cant even take it to the dyno to tune because of the leak'

how is the actual cam itself? is the cam jornal damaged? also are the little springs stayin inside the seal when your putting them on? you sure your valve cover gasket isnt f--ked up on that side of the motor causing it to leak and making you think its the cam seals?maybe your valvecover is cracked

The springs are staying inside the seal. I made sure of that.I am sure its the not valve cover gasket. I am using a brand new one, and i put alittle honda bond on that side just to be sure. The cam journals are not messed up. It does it with different cams.

check your valve cover then also on your seal do you have them all the way in or in just to where the bevel begins?

I did not push it all the way in.
I really think its something beyond the seals. I am not sure what it is. Thats the reason why I asked if maybe the oil pressure could have something to do with it.

it may be when the end cam caps were installed there wasnt any or enough hondabond on the bottom side of them to seal to the head.

Inspect the washers where the rail-sliders bolts two. The bolt should be a hex-type.

This "rail-sliders" that I call it, are the rails where the rocker assembly slide through.

That might be a possiblity, also, make sure the cam seals are not too far out where it actually slides off the cam seal. Never seen that done before but thats my hangover thought for the day, lol

Oil pressure should not cause that kind of leak. Are you putting honda bond between the cam cap and the head near the cam seals?

Maybe a silly question, but how much oil pressure do you have? 80 lbs. HOT at 8000 rpm is fine. 110 HOT is too much. 20-30 HOT at idle is fine.
