Nope. It is hard to hear your vtec crossover, that loud noise you haer at 5800 RPM is your secondaries opening. Listen around 4400 rpm and you will barely hear your vtec. Its true, believe it or not.

exactly. 4400 rpm = vtec crossover and 5600 rpm = secondaries open
if you dont believe it, run an intake w/stock exhaust....you hear it get louder at 5600...this is the secondaries. now, if you are running stock exhaust, pull off the axle back. at 4400 rpm you WILL hear vtec engage.

SRI = Short Ram Intake
I seriously cant understand how people cant hear their IAB Kick in. I think those complaining about not hearing them, with B18c1's using the factory manifold, are confusing the sound that the IAB makes for VTEC.

I've also never heard of an exhaust or header combo that kills the IAB sound. The only things I can think of that would keep you from hearing them are
-Running an oem or type r style manifold
-ECU being chipped without IAB Control
-IAB's not working
-Maybe something JDM i've never heard about

Still have not experienced that....even in an EG with a jspec ITR header, test pipe, and spoon axle back. If anything, it sounded more halacious.

dude, when VTEC engage, of course the loud exhaust would make it sound louder, but butterflies opening sound seems to drown out

Not totally true. In most cases vtec crossover is still quiet no matter what. My friends GSR with AEM SRI and N1 exhaust has a quiet vtec crossover.
Really, if you want to get rid of yor secondaries, get the skunk 2 intake manifold. I THINK it deletes the secondaries. Notice I highlighted think. Don't jump on my case if it is wrong.

You got it mixed up. When Vtec engages, the sound of the crossover is not loud at all....its somewhat unnoticeable. The secondaries is the loud sound you hear in the upper 5000 rpm range. The Tone changes pitch and gets a bit more throaty.

You're right. It gets rid of the secondary IAB system by not utilizing it at all...like the Type R and LS manifolds.
