if you have a tach with a shift light on it, there should be a plug on the tach that the light will plug in to. the tach should also have an adjustment **** to adjust when the light comes on. if not, the light may not be for that tach. take pictures...

Figured out what the light is. It is a pro-light warning light from autometer. Just has two black wires running out of it with no plug at the end. The tach had no plug either. I am assuming there was a sensor for this warning light. Anyone know if I could use the light to sense anything else on my car? Would it be possible to hook it up to my check engine light since I have the check engine light used as my Shift Light through uberdata?

Usually you would run the two wires to an RPM activated switch. I don't see anything wrong with using the CEL though.

if the are the two black wires coming out of the shift lite then they need to plug into the back of the tach. On my monster tach it was plug and play. It was the signal wire on the tach that i had trouble with

The shift light doesnt have a plug going back into the tach. I ended up wiring it to my vtec. Now I got a huge red vtec light. As soon as I figure out what wire throws the CEL light I will have it hooked up to it.

if i were you, i would disconnect your big *** light from your vtec wire. the vtec output is not capable of providing that kind of current, the ecu will also eventually trip a vtec code if it hasn't already. i would also not connect it to the MIL. most all of the circuits from the ECU are only designed to handle the loads intended by the factory. most of the factory lights consume about 50mA. your light will probabley consume about 350mA. destroying a circuit in your ECU is not cool, will most likely be a pain in the *** to repair.
