Just spotted a really efficient looking 2Y to 1 OEM exhaust manifold on a '91 CRX, D15B6, but when I looked up the engine in Pissed Off Sols list it has far less HP than my stock motor. Is it worth the effort to go get it and put it on? Along with a DPFI to MPFI update?

 

I can't be mistaken but the length of the exhaust ports from one to the other are all the same for the series’. D on D and B on B, I can’t speak for H,F or K series – I don’t have any experience with those….yet!

Anyway, I got tired of staring at a cat right under the manifold at the head in my 88 std; I bolted on (direct, easy fit) a d16z6 exhaust manifold to my d15b1 block/head. I swear it, the ports and tubes of the b1 manifold/down pipe appears to be an inch while the z6 looks like 2 or more! Now I have a straight 2 inch all the way to a 2 ½ in and out muff… I’m happy!

What I’m getting at, you should be able to take a d16z6, y8, y7, b1, b2 and other d series manifolds and inter-change them with your b6 head (without problems).

The plus side to my noisier b1, I have a z6 head in my closet that I need to strip and clean before I drop it in for a mini me (which I intend to boost until I get a b18). I’ve typed way to many words and now I shall go away!!!
