Default hey one quick question??

after high school i plan on getting a new car... i was looking at the 1999-2000 honda civic si's. i think they're awesome... i know that they have a b16a2 but thats only putting out like 160 horses... to me thats a lack of power... but i was just wondering wats the potential for this motor... and how much torque and hp can i get with modifying.. thanks

The potential is up to your wallet. LOL @ your screen name.....

But really there is a limit to what a 1.6L can produce.

get the car, i have one, although i got it used form a teenager my age (bad move) its proven to be great and i would have no other honda.
They guy i got mine from must have shot nitrous through it before he sold it to me cause after a few months my engine started acting up and when i took it apart a piston was melted, i then swapped a new block in there and called it a day
but back to your question, power you can make out of a car depends on what your looking for NA or turbo or supercharge what not, But i deffinetly recomend getting it.
and not to let you down even more, but the 160 they say is really only about 140

Default HP & TQ = $$$

this question is always asked, how much can i do to a whatever powerplant... the real question some times is how much power can you handle? if there was some mod for $20 that could let you have 300whp in 15 minutes, would you be able to handle the power? would you need the power? would it be too much or not enough for what you need the car for?

keep in mind that HP=fuel requirement...didn't they say $4.00 a gallon?

That's because the dealer tells you what hp the engine makes at the flywheel. Not the wheels.

yep, just didnt want him to be diaspointed.

also i recomend taking the car to a mechanic you might now, or if your good with engines, since the b16 motor is one of the most used for swaps, some people rag them out more then others, just be carefull of what you buy, and good luck
