having raced a fully-prepped Mugen S2K, I can say that it is the best off-the-shelf-parts supplied street-legal tuner car I have ever roadraced.
Period. Hands down. No bull-****.

The banner is oh so true but I fell a victim to the whole mugen crazy many years ago and I can't seem not to buy high priced trust worthy off the shelf performance parts.

Their cars are probably one of the best sorted out parts on the market. Along with some of their unique parts that you won't find anyone producing, let alone of quality. If you fall for the Mugen wheels, Mugen body kit, Mugen aethetics that's your own fault. Sometimes you just have to realize that fiberglass, is fiberglass. However their performance line of products is probably one of the best designed on the market and they all carry the non-invalidation of Honda/Acura warranties. Much like how Comptech is revered here for Acura parts.
Anyone who believes that Mugen designed parts are garbage doesn't know what they're talking about. However, you do pay a premium for their parts, but that's because almost all of them are of quite high build quality.

^^^ Agreed, you get what you pay for. I've used a lot of parts on different cars over the last 12 yrs and the quality and fitment of Mugen products is unsurpassed.
I don't have the wheels or body kit as I couldn't justify the costs for a "look".
I often wonder what drives people to put something like this together. MackDad, please list all the Mugen parts installed on your car that you are not happy with, maybe we can help you out.

it's funny...if MUGEN parts cost 80% of what they do now, this thread wouldn't even exist.
MUGEN makes nice stuff, no doubt. I truly believe that you can call no MUGEN parts junk. The price is the hard part to swallow...

nobody will step back and realize that Mugen parts are the top of the line for our cars....
they may not perform the absolute best, and they do cost a lot, but you will not find one person with a complaint about their parts (other than price)....
basically its like buying a BMW....
