So Cal, First time Autocrosser: In need of an SA rated helmet
Anybody in the southern california area, that is willing to let a fellow car enthusiast borrow a SA rated helemt for the weekend of November 12th ?? I am attending a track event at willow springs in Lancaster. I'll be willing to either pay a rental fee, breakfast, lunch, brunch, or dinner of your choice. Thanks in advance. I have a medium sized head by the way.
BTW: My Head size is a 7 3/8

Not from Cal but most clubs have loaner helmets for novices.
Otherwise you can pick one up fairly cheap. Try http://www.m2rhelmets.com/2004/Fullface/MR10.htm

Yeah, I've never seen an autocross that didn't have loaners, and he should only need an M-rated helmet for autocross. BTW, M2R is definately good stuff for not much money.

Its a speedtrialusa.com event
Q: I plan to get a SA2000 helmet, but was curious as to why M2000 aren't allowed?
A: SA2000 is for automobiles, fireproof and is able to withstand multiple impacts. M2000 is for motorcycles, not fireproof and is only good for one big impact.
Q: I got myself a used helmet for autocross, it's Snell-95 or M95. Will I be able to use it?
A: The track tech is very strict and will not allow any motorcycle helmets. The helmet must be Snell Auto 95 (SA95 or SA2000).

Your title is a little misleading. It's not an autoctoss event, it's a grip road course event.
If you're planning to buy an SA helmet anyway, STUSA was having a group buy on SA 2005 helmets. I'm not sure what the deadline was, but you might want to email them.

I'll gladly do a group buy for SA2000 or SA2005. http://www.tankslapperautosport.com

The "M2" and "M3" are Bell model names, not ratings. The M2 and M3 are SA2000 rated AFAIK.
