Identify this part? Please :P
Hey guys just wondering what this part is called and what it does.I think it is just a vaccuum regulator or somehting it has vaccuum going in and out of it.The reason i ask is cause there is a little pipe that it connects to at idle no sound open throttle it sucks in.Anyone know? Your help is much appriciated.

Honda ID's it as "Valve" (#5 in the illustration supplied)(If I'm looking at the right thing) I'll try to get a more difinitive answer for you, unless someone else chimes in. I suspect it's part of the evaporative control system, possibly a purge solenoid but I'll probably be proven wrong.

hehe thanks.Im trying to figure out if it needs to go to the intake tube or not.It is not connected at all, it is illustrated it does go to the tube.I have it blocked off right now, just wondering if that is good or not. Thanks for the help.I think it is going from that vavle to the intake tube.ill have to reconnect it some how.

it is listed as "FIA control solenoid valve" im not sure what it really does, but yes one line runs to the intake tube, and one to the egr possibly....
you have a vaccum diagram on a sticker under the hood, you could check that out

Is it the IAC valve. The Intake Air Control valve?
If it is you need it for your car to idle properly.
This valve controls the amount of air flow that bypasses the intake throttle plate at idle. When you remove the vacuum line to this valve the engine should shoot up and down. If it doesn't it's not the IAC valve.

one goes to the intake air tube, and i believe the other goes to the egr.

that is a very odd palce for an egre control solenoid, but it is the rght size. usually though the egr control solenoid and cvcc valve are near the strut tower on the driver side, by the power steering reservoir.
