i was changing the rear pads and couldnt get the piston back in, i know you have to twist and turn them but no matter how hard i tried i couldnt get them back in, i had to put my old pads back in again till ican figure out how to get around this problem, any ideas?
what did u use to turn the piston back in, at least u got that part right
my dad bent a c clamp tryin to do my moms rear brake pads......
and are u turning counter clockwise? the best tool i found was a crow bar to turn the piston
good luck

what did you use to try to turn the piston back in? i got this cube looking tool w/ little protrusions/teeth and it attaches to a 3/8" ratchet.. that worked fine for me...
i've heard of other people using needle nose pliers and spreading them and then turning.. and some using hex keys laid flat on the piston groove then turning it..

Try unscrewing (not removing) the master cylinder resovoir. Somtimes this will relieve the pressure in the lines.
I know it sounds dumb, but make sure the e-brake is not up.

the e-brake was off, but i never released the cap on the cylinder, i used a large chisel with about an inch wide head on it to put in between the little corners sticking out but couldnt get it to turn, i'll try realease the cap on the master cylinder, and give it a go again. **** when i think of it now i was turning clockwise not anti-clockwise

So the rear caliper piston can't just be samshed back in with a c-clamp? Do you actually have to thread the piston back into the caliper?
Turn the rear piston CLOCKWISE while you push it in... All Honda/Acura vehicles with single piston sliding rear calipers which utilize an integrated e-brake operate this way.
