what is a b20a ?

 

I believe its the bottom end of like a CRV or an older generate prelude, not sure though, try a search maybe, quite a few threads about it.

 

b20 is basically an ls motor w/ .2 more displacement. comes out of a crv. preludes have h series.

 

The b20a actually was from older generation preludes, like the 89-91 models or something like that. It's not the same powerplant as the crv's b20b or b20z at all.

 

I got my b20z out of a CRV.

 

it's a HONDA CRV Engine I'm not quite sure if they only have two models b20a and b20z. I'm sure that i'm close though cause my friend have a b20/vtec and do some real damage by having a 11.5 second car now that's the stuff!!!!

88-89 Honda Prelude Si.

90-91 Honda Prelude Si had a B21A1

*Mr. Ichishima (sp3wn) used the crank from the OG B20 in his first B16 stroker kits...*

Bore is standard 81.5mm Bseries, but the stroke is like 9-Tfuckin5mm or some ****.

They are still littering junkyards, so if anyone still cares about the dinosaur Bseries, you have a little more info...

not entirely correct there......as FreeMyndz posted, the B20A was found in the older Prelude 2.0Si from 88-89.

tousche! u know its kinda funny because i always wondered what motors were in the older preludes...but never really bothered to check. thanks for the correction.

This is true As stated ^^ B21 is from the 90-91 Prelude SI .

i had a 91 prelude SI wich had a b20A5...

Actually, you are wrong, as well as many other people is in this thread. For the correct info, reference ProjectTegs post. Thanks for letting us know you work at Honda though, as if I needed another reason not to trust my car to a dealership service department.
I guess the next thing you are going to tell us is that there are no Integras with D series motors?

BTW they didn't make Preludes in 1960

go pop the hood in a 88-91 lude, and youll see they came with a b20a and a b21a....i hate to have my car worked on by you....

 

From my knowledge a b20a is a crv block that is used to make a vtec motor for better torque and power.
