Default H series tranny

Junkyard trannies. Okay I am finally getting parts the compliment my swap. ? is if I was to find a h22 or h23 tranny at a local junkyard, what are some things I need to look out for and what things are better to replace before installed.

i doubt you would find a h22 tranny in a junkyard, but you might find an h23 one...

just hope the internal bearings are good....replacing them after putting it in sucks...

i'd perfer the h23 actually. yeah i know the h22 would be hard to find. thats why i would only go to one that does majority hondas that has new wrecked honda regularly. are the bearings the same as the sycros or is that something totally different and if it is different should i change those as well.

or u could just always source a tranny out on the net. Cause spending the time at junkyards trying to get lucky is a hard game to play! my advice look all around on the internet and see what u can find!

yeah i try here and there on the net. i am always on ebay since i got my h22 there. oh and i want to go h23 because in a couple of years i hope to have my pieced together turbo ready. i'd perfer to kill two birds with on stone by getting the h23 instead of the h22 by going ahead and installing it before my turbo stuff is all bought. and oh i don't plan on getting cheezy turbo parts either. thats y i figure 2 years as well on top of me trying to do all this while i am still paying bills.

Are there any differences between the H23 manual tranny & Accord's F22B manual tranny? Someone told me they're the same tranny with the same gear ratio, is that true?
