Default PY paint match

For those of you that have repaired your PY ITRs from fender benders, has the paint match been sucessful?

Or should I prepare for the worse? I've been told that Yellow is very hard to match

It's been 3 weeks now and I finally get to see the results this afternoon

It's not as hard as silver. I'll let you know when I get ready to do the race car.

If they "chrono" match you should be ok.

At my local paint store, I just gave them the code. They also have it in there books. They mixed it there and the color match is almost exact. With the exception of someone else's re-spray.

Shouldn't be to hard to get it done.

neo is right. The best body shops don't just color match with a paint code, because the color can change over time. They match the exact color that's on the car, not what's on some paint chip.

However, there is nothing tricky about matching PY paint. The trickiest paints to match are those containing metallic flakes, because they need to line up exactly right and give the same overall "look" as the original paint; that's why NHBP and FBP are harder to match than PY or CW. Even trickier (but not available on the ITR from the factory) are pearlescent paints and color-changing paints.

If you're not happy with the match, tell them. Most body shops want their customers to be happy with their work.

It may have a different appearence if they clear coat it. PY is single stage.
