No heat?
Hey guys new to forums brother used to be member, but yeah anyways as the title says i have NO heat in my car... someone said my heater core is shot but could it not be hooked up? or is it a better chance that it is shot? please help out and how do i check?!
Could be several things. As said above, there is a valve that opens and closes (I believe when you slide the temp slider toward heat). You can stick your head under there and see it move a metal rod.
If you look at your firewall, you should see coolant hoses go into the firewall, and then come right out near the same area. That's where the coolant goes into the heater core. See if the hoses are hooked up correctly.
Another reason might be your thermostat. It could either be stuck open, or not even be there. The coolant doesn't have time to "warm up" fully and then you don't get really hot air, just warm air.
Are you getting only cold air? Or warm air?

I've got a similar problem... It will blow cold *** air until it gets warmed up completely (about half on the temp gauge) and then all of a sudden the hot air blasts through... Thermostat sticking u think?
it is blowing like outside temp air, even when it was like 95 out it still blew like chilly air but not like A/C kinda air just cool air but my mechanic just told me that when he hooked it up when he changed the motor it leaked coolent all over the inside of my car... -_- but w/e i just need to know if i need a new one or i can fix mine

Okay, so did the mechanic do anything about it? If it leaked, and he didn't fix it, he probably just bypassed it. So now your heater core isn't running any coolant through it. That's just my guess.
Did you read my previous post?

If they are, then make sure your valves (also mentioned above) are opening and closing properly. It's best to make sure something's wrong first (and leaking) than to just go through the trouble to replace it. The dash has to be removed for the heater core to be replaced.
