aight im trying to take out my current outside door handles and replace the handles on my coupe w/ rear handles from a 4 door.. i did a search on the forums and only found someone stating to "twist the rods around so the lock mechanism will work"

can someone please expand on this for me? I tried taking out the handle and i got it unbolted.. but i had trouble removing all the rods and lock assemblies.. if anyone can offer any help or any links with pictures it would be appreciated... i do have a helms manual and it looks like you clamp the rod attaching to the handle or something.. but i just dont want to break or mess up anything.. and render my door useless or unlockable...

if you guys have replaced your handles help me out.. thanks in advance..
