Default Not sure what alarm system to get for my H22

Hi,

Recendly, I had my car stereo stolen. I would like to get an alarm system in my car, but I am not sure what to get. I really do not want to spend much for an alarm system. Is there anyone who can help me choose alarm for my H22 car. I am lookin for something not to expensive, but pretty good. If anyone has had a good experience with there alarm system please let me know what kind and how much you paid for it.

keep in mind that when you buy an alarm you get what you pay for.... you can get a basic alarm for around 100 or you can get a 2 way remote that reaches up to 1/2 mile for abound 350.... its all in what you want to spend and how much you like your car...

Compustar is awesome...DEI also makes the other best alarms... I wouldnt go with anything other than those 2.. reliability, functionality, warranties, and quality are superior to most others...

PS.. I install alarms all day... So, ya...

Ive got a compustar in the 89 lude and a Viper(DEI) in the 93...

Another vote for DEI (viper), only one I've ever used. I'll probably never switch either.

All the above mentioned alarms are very pricey, and although you get what you pay for, if you can't afford a top-of-the-line one at this time, I suggest you look at the audio/security forum, they have much more info posted.

Look at installing a kill switch as well, if you get a nice viper alarm or DEI install a kill switch someplace annoying and that way it will take them just that much longer - Ive heard of people hooking the kill switch up to their fuel pump, starter, whatever you fancy that does not allow the car to start. some alarms come with a kill switch, make sure to use it!

I would hook up a kill switch to your brights, or your parking lights, or something like that.

And make sure the horn goes off if you don't do it right.

But yeah this probably should be in the audio/video forum.
