Default Wondering this about opening VTEC in SOHC

I was on the highway going home today and I decided to hit 5500rpms while in second to see if motor screams when it opens. I know that it wont scream like a DOHC but I didnt really notice a change. Do the rest of you guys hear something in your SOHCs?

SOHC honda engines are wayyy quieter in vtec than DOHC, what you're seeing is normal.

There is a way you can hear a sohc vtec, a buddy of mine did it by using a vtec-e ecu or something like that on a d16z6. I forgot. It's been a long time.

d16z6 opened stock intake, 2.25" with Spoon N1. VTEC set at 4500rpms it's definitely noticible. I'm sure with a test pipe and a header it'd be even more noticible. There is definitely a powerband there too.

I never understand why people always talk about hearing VTEC "kick in" on a SOHC. If you want to hear it so bad, get a B series.

Seriously... who cares about how it sounds.
