Default D16Y8 - 80k worth of wear? Please help

Does this wear look normal? I haven't rebuilt since I was 17 (helped on a few pontiac V8's, chevy's, and did my own 350) - so I'm not too good at guaging wear. My main concern is if I should micropolish the crank and if the bore's are within spec (don't have a bore guage yet).

Well I'm concerned about the pistons - the one I pulled has scuffing on the side (picture doesn't show it well), and the bearings look like they had a coating on them, but worn away top and bottom (discolored patches). Maybe it's because I'm used to V8's wear patterns, and that the motors I was rebuilding would see <50 hours of oval track time.

I got the D16Y8 in a trade, it has "00 CIVIC EX" painted on the crank pulley, came with z6 head - said to have 80k miles on it. I'm planning on making nearly 300whp w/boost, and have it last at least 5k miles. FYI my eagle rods are in the mail, as are the y8/z6 hybrid ARP stud kit. Going to use an s-trim t3/t04b with vitaras.

i think you will get more than 5k out of the motor as long as it is well tuned and such....

mine kinda looked like that and i "blew" my engine, it ran, but it ran like total ****, me and my dad took it apart and got it rebuilt HEHE so turns out my pistons looked like that and stuff but i blew my main bearings and a wrist pin, very loud ticking ((crys)) im happy now i got my d16y8 bored a lil and fully rebuilt yey! ill post some pics when i got the time.............as for the wear on the pistons i had that also, that did not make the ticking noise but i got my block checked out and i guess the cylinders were out of round which was caused by the piston wear and it could have caused alot more problems in the long run, thats why i got it bored out lol i own like a 1.7 L now hahahahha YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
