Does anyone have a link or two that has some decent information about the S2000's (and assuming the NSX as well) manufacturing plant...and more specifically, info about the hand building process that goes into the cars...i was trying to find a good read on it to show a co-worker who is convinced the S2000 is not built in Japan, much less hand built there...so id like to have something to show him with some decent content.

i think only 2000 models are hand built

I almost forgot, I was gonna tell you to open your door and show him the ID tag. The thing says Made in Japan right on it, or something like that.

That's pretty funny because the OEM radiator is also the same Part # as an Accord. A/C system too I think, but those components are generic.

 

Thank you fella's...i sent him a little bit fo the info, and he said something along the lines of "Oh ok, thats pretty neat...i always thought they were built in europe or something..." Then he read that they were built in the same place as the NSX and he said "Why did that do that? The NSX is a real sports car..." Needless to say...i jsut walked away from the conversation...we're talking about a Ford guy anyways, so i guess he just needs to be let loose thinking what he wants...

Should've told him they also build the Focus and the GT40 at the same plant.

suzuka is a name of a track in japan

Tochigi - Japan is where they build them. Suzuka - Japan is where they test them. For the development of the S2000's suspension, they used Suzuka as the basis.

And yeah...the guy thinks that the Mustang Cobra (s/c'ed version) is one of the finest sports cars there is...his non-blown cobra is big and loud, but it isnt that fast, but he was out one day a few weeks back talking with the owner of the company right beside ours, who drives a silver 360 Modena...and he was comparing the two. Ive talked to the same guy when we had our S2000 and he was always like "Who drives the piece of **** ford?" hahahaha...sucker.
