Default ECU, Injectors, etc..

Hey,

running a d16y7 obd 2a in my 97 civic.

I have swapped over a z6 IM with the fuel rail and FPR.

I've got the z6 injectors lying around and want to use them (bigger than the y7 180-190cc)...

So, i need you guys to help me make it work. Check my plans -

I'm getting a p28 ECU, obd1 conversion harness and then some obd1 Injector clips. I'm just wireing the obd1 clips onto my harness, and connect them to the z6 injectors. With this setup i will be able to run the bigger z6 injectors and get a better basemap of the stock p28. A basemap that works better with the higher air supply the z6 IM gives me at top-end. P28 is better for top-end power i hear.

Will this work like a charm on my y7 engine?

---Add-on info.
I am planning to go for a z6head too in the future, and i figured the obd conversion and z6 injectors/p28 was a damn good start. Allso p28/obd1 is a better option when tuning comes into play.

Not too sure about that setup...you're gonna run a vtec ecu on a non-vtec (d16y7) engine? might expect some vtec codes to pop up and your CEL to stay on.

edit: I read on down to your future plans, and would recommend having all this done at once. Then you can have the ECU chipped and tuned for your exact setup. Nothing wrong with purchasing the ECU, conversion harness, and other items, but i would hold off on the install unless you're cool with codes 21 and 22. when you change the head out to a VTEC head and wire everything up, you'll be good to go with no codes. Good luck either way you go.

Will it throw codes because it can not detect any vtec wired up?

yes. it will throw a 21 for no VTEC solenoid present and a 22 for no VTEC Pressure switch.
