Default Cheap intake idea.

I had an extra cone style air filter lying around, so i thought i'd give this a try. I just used some plastic pipe and a 45 degree fitting.

It's not pvc pipe. It's called CPVC. It's used for underground water mains and fire sprinkler installs. It' dosen't give off any gases and is fairly heat resistant. I know it's pretty ghetto, but i've always wanted to try it.

well if u are going to run with that, at least clean that filter up and re-oil it. The K&N filter cleaner kit is only like $10 and its at any autoparts store

If the PVC can take the heat, then you'll be fine.

Typically when we have to make a HomeDepot intake... we keep the hood closed At least flat-black it or something
Usually we make them for temps... to get the car home, or an order didn't ship in time. Not on-purpose. and we definatly don't post it up on H-T.
Post this ish in the ghetto thread in A&C for sure

Don't worry guys, i was just doin it for kicks. It's not like i'm gonna start mass-producing them and trying to sell them on ebay. Say what you will, but even though it's pretty cheap and ghetto i'm convinced it provides a smoother path for the airflow than the stock honda "rubber hose" intake. I used to install fire sprinklers so i just had all this stuff lying around. The orange CPVC can withstand temperatures close to 500 deg F. My next stupid idea is to try using it as charge piping for a turbo setup. Obviously i wouldn't hook the plastic pipe straight up to the turbo. But i'm gonna try running it from the intercooler to the throttle body. When we test our fire sprinklers, we charge all the piping to 200psi, so the pipe can handle it. FLAME AWAY!!!!

Use electrical gray PVC, heat it, and bend to 45*. No need for an extra fitting and a harsh corner. More airflow. *rollseyes*
