OmniPower Problems
I installed my omni-power full coilovers earlier this year and now I get a loud thumping noise in my rear drivers side. I have no idea what it is, I have re-torqued everything to what it should be at and double checked everything but it is still making the noise. I also have SRR LCAs and a cusco strut bar back there and I rechecked those also. What is wrong? Anyone else have this problem? TIA
It sounds like maybe something is loose but nothing is, it only happens when I go over bumps. It happens alot at low speeds. The sound is hard to explain... I hope that helps some.

do you have the omnipower rear camber kit? If the 2 bolts that connect the arm to the body are not all the way torqued down then kit will bump back and forth against the body.........
did u preload them correcly. what happens if u dont preload them is, they will sag and when u hit a bump. the spring will come off the perch and then when it comes back down it will hit the perch and maybe thats whats wrong with urs.
I followed the directions perfect, maybe I messed up though... Is that when you tighten the top bolt when the car is on the ground? Maybe that is my problem, it passed my mind but I am allmost certain I did it correctly.
i dont think so. there is instructions on omnipowerusa.com basically what ur doin is ur making sure that the spring does'nt sag at all even when there is no pressure applied to it all.
thumping occurs when u buy a product thats a big pile of ****. next thing u know the shock will break and u will die on the road..
this can be fixed by removing them, and crushing them.

Thanks for being an ***.
for now on don't post **** like that, it's lame as hell. Thank you for legit helpful comments and good customer service by omniman.

My Omni Streets do the same thing, but at all 4 corners. My car is a Honda Certified 2000 Sedan (58000km) that I purchased in April of this year . Coilovers were installed in early June and the thumping began IMMEDIATELY in the rear...I mean, we took it for a spin after I installed them to see how it rode and it already clunked and sound loose in the rear. I also had purchased Omni Rear LCAs at the last minute due to a couple seized bolts that I did not have the time/tools to drill out. At first I figured it could be the spare tire or the trunk liner making rattling due to the stiffer ride...So I fastened the spare, removed the liner and still the same.
Maybe my car was always like this and its just my low profile tires and stiff suspension combining for more noise? I doubt it...

Before I go further, I should tell you that the noise only occurs at low speeds, like residential street speeds and even parking lot speeds. It goes away as you get over 40 km/h (I'm using analogies because I don't know what the speeds would be in mph). Also, it clunks on even the smalles bumps, like a sewer or medium sized crack, or a driveway...At high speeds, it's solid and rides very well.

...A few weeks go by and I begin to notice the front making the same clunk/loose fastener noise...So I loosened and re-torqued every bolt I had touched when I installed the suspension and replaced the cheap bolts I used in the rear with Honda OEM ones. For sure this must be the end to my clunking chassis...
Well, to no surprise, it's still doing this (I haven't driven the car for a while now for unrelated reasons; no, it's not legal issues) and I have no real clue as to why...even my old 96 sedan w/ over 200000km didn't sound like this with the H&R Sports/AGX combo.
I only lowered the car to 61cm at the apex of the fender, so maybe a tad over 2". Everything was installed correctly as I spent hours researching on proper preloading techniques, torque specs, height adjustment, etc...I figure maybe the front ball joints could be messed, but my car isn't even over 5 years old and it's not lowered very much. This still wouldn't explain the rear...
Any help appreciated.
My stock suspension is going in this weekend. I'll see if it still makes the noises on steelies

Man my car does the same dang thing. Recently install the full Skunk2 Pro Series system and the rear will make that thumping noise everything it hit a bump...I was wondring if you have to cut the bumpstop in half and remove the dust cover. Someone got to know this.
You should cut the bumpstop if you're using stock shocks or stock bumpstops...I checked Skunk2's website and I don't see anything called a ProSeries Suspension, only ProSeries engine parts. I'm assuming you're using the coilover sleeves. If you are lowering your car more than an inch I'd say you cut the bump stops.
I don't know if they are what's causing the clunk, though.

Hmmmm...
I have Konis and Ground Controls on my Civic for almost 2 years of daily driving and some serious autocrossing and I have never heard such a noise. Maybe you should take this guys advice.

guys, tighten the hell out of the lower collar lock. a friend of mine had hayame coilovers (same general layout as the omnis, where the shock can screw into the lower mount) and he had the same thumping noise; it turned out that even thought he lower collar lock appeared to be tight as hell, it wasn't, and this produced the noise. jack the car up, and tighten that **** till you can't anymore, then tap it with a screw driver to make it even tighter. if that doesn't work, make sure the shock shaft nut that holds the top mount onto the shock is tight as well. if every other nut and bolt is tight, these are the most likely things that would cause that noise (if the noies occurs at more than one corner).
GoldBadge, that is exactly what is happening to me, low speeds just suck. I will try to tighten the lower collar next time I get a chance. Thanks for the help guys.
Hey goldbadge, Yes there is a Skunk2 pro series full coilover. Check out jhpusa.com that where i got mine from. Anyway do you have to cut the bump stopper if you using the skunk2 shock and also remove the dust cover? If I need to remove the dust cover then would it be safe to drive without it?
