Default Mini Me Swap?

Okay, I'm not flaming or anything and I guess you could say that this thread will be dripping with ignorance so forgive me please. Okay. A Mini me swap.
You swap out the head of a D16Z9 I believe and drop it into a D15B2 bottom.

My questions are:

What good does this do? Are there any advantages.
Is it really cheaper?

I was wondering because from some prices I saw, unless I'm mistaken...A head can range from about $240-$350. Thats basically the price of a used D16.
Is it that you don't have to deal with rewiring and and such or what? Please enlighten me.

Thank you

<--very stupid, needs enlightening, and thought that Hondata was a book
