My build is officially a headache now.

Most of my valve guide/seats are leaking oil and because the head i have is so milled, I pretty much need a new casting.

My question is, I have a friend with a b16 head. He threw a rod in his 00Si and since put in a gsr longblock. He says the only thing wrong with the head is 2 bent valves.

Is a head like that fixable? I'd like to take it, do a pnp, and throw in the itr valvetrain i already have....if you think that would be ok.

also what if that is ok, what is a reasonable offer to make on such a head?

please help. my only other car's tranny is dying so i need to get this back on the road asap.

 

try to get his head for as cheap as you can. reasonable would be like 250-350

when valves are bent, most likely the valve guide is cracked and needs to be replaced. when i had mine replaced, they were like $8 a pop.

but what you pay for the head depends on if the head/seat/bowl is damaged.

if everything is good but the cracked guides, id give him between 300-350 depending on how clean it is.

How much is the head milled? Just curious...

 

its already milled 30thou below minimum specs.

if it is only two bent valves should be no problem at all
