1990 Honda Accord Transmission Filter (Screen)
I am about to take on the project of removing the damaged auto transmission from my 1990 honda accord and installing another one from a used accord. I am aware that this paticular transmission does not have a filter that can be accessed without breaking down the transmission. My question is, since i have the used transmission out would it be worth my while to clean or replace this filter and if so is it much trouble to get to once the transmission is out of the vehicle. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
the filter is located below the valve body,, u have to take tranny completely apart to get to filter,,,,,,not something that u want to try to do ...
Too bad you couldn't incorporate a "Hit Counter" in your posts. I'd be curious as to how many times this questions been asked LOL

I did a search for that particular topic but found nothing related to the feasibility of changing the screen. Thank you guys for your help. Hopefully this one hasn't been asked yet but i haven't done a search for it, is it possible to backflush the tranny?
let me add a little to that. I have been told that on an automatic transmission with 100,000 plus miles it is not a good idea to flush the transmission. Risk the possiblity of doing more harm than good. What do you guys think?
Well if you have grave concerns you might consider that honda does offer an external filter kit. it's a high flow filter that mounts in line to the cooler lines going to the radiator.
