Pics of our homebuilt car trailer "DIY yO!"
Well not really a DIY thread as I don't have too many "in progress" pics but anyway, here's what Gertrude will be getting toted around on. 100% completely home built and fabbed. My brother's father-in-law works for a steel company so he got the hook-up. Kinda bored so thought I'd share. Nothing too crazy but it'll do the job

Anyway that's what I have. Just a few loose ends to finish up.

So how does your state handle home-made trailers? Here in PA all trailers have to have a titles, and you have to get them inspected every year, and pay for a trailer plate. How do you get all that on a home-made trailer?
Well I can't speak for PA but here in MA it gets registered as a "Home-made" so I have to show receipts for material (steel, wood, etc). If the trailer is registered for less than 3000 lbs (which this one is) it doesn't require an inspection. We did this b/c this trailer doesn't have electric brakes (could easily handle more than the reg'd weight though). If it's reg'd as more than 3000 lbs it wiill require an inspection.
To get a plate and reg we just brought the receipts to the DMV and applied for a reg and they title and register it as "Home made". Pretty easy actually.
