I reciently had the same problem. I asked the same question. If its gonna be your daily driver, stick with the GS-R tranny. If you get the B16 tranny, Your RPMs will be higher to go 50mph than they would in w/ a GS-R tranny. With gas prices the way they are, im sure you wanna try and save gas and money.
IMO the GS-R tranny is the best any way.

I had to replace my tranny when I bought my GSR, I went with the B16 (out of a '99 SI). The B16 tranny has the same gearing as an ITR minus the LSD. When cruising on the highway at 70mph, I'm running at about 4000rpm. With the GSR tranny my guess is you'd probably be around 3000-3200 at the same speed. I can't compare gas mileage before and after, but I'm sure it suffered a little bit. But if I had to do it again I would stick with the B16. Better acceleration, a definite upgrade over the GSR tranny. If you are planning on modding or racing at all or just want to give your car some pep, then go with the B16. If all you are gonna do is drive from point A to point B, you might as well go with the GSR. Hope this helps.

BTW-Daily driven 4 Door GSR - 175,000 miles

I like the gear ratios of the GSR tranny Stick with that one and maybe down the line if you want to upgrade, you can maybe slap on a Quaife LSD on to it for more traction. ......

dude, definately get the GSR tranny. it revs high as it is for daily driving. there is no need or desire to rev any higher. i mean... 4k at 80MPH. especially if you have aftermarket exhaust.
