building a stronger 92 accord
i'm new to this website, a friend told me to check this website out and register, he said it's very informative and im hoping he's right. i have a 92 accord dx and it's slow as hell. i spoke with my friend about plans for the car and he suggested i swap the engine for an H22. but before, he said to get a good suspension and get some good tires. does anyone have any suggestions on what to do to this car. i love the accord and no im not going to put any stupid body kits on it. just plain, under the hood is what matters. plus does anyone know of any turbochargers for an h22?
h22's and turbo's typically don't mix...if you're wanting a cheaper solution with more power look at adding a turbo to your f22a. You can use a dsm manifold and drill out some of the exhaust manifold bolts and it bolts on, throw on a 14b turbo, run IC piping and call it a day. You can piece together a setup like that for around 700 bucks including either safc or a p06.
You can also check out http://www.cb7tuner.com for a 4th gen specific technical site. Even at 5psi it would kill a stock h22.
Just my 2 cents.

A otherwise stock f22 with 5psi should put out about 160whp and 170-180wtq and a h22 stock (usdm) should be around 160whp and about 130 (if that)wtq.
h22 swap = 1600
turbo goodies = 700-800
If you don't have any knowledge on forced induction I would HIGHLY suggest reading and researching a lot before you commit to a project. Not only that but you also need to decide what your goals are for the car, sleeper, more power, more fun to drive, economy, reliability etc etc.

yeah as you can tell im new to the whole forced induction thing, and i have been reading about forced induction and stuff like that. im actually trying to join a club at school or go to a shop and ask if i can hang out and learn stuff about how to build engines and turbocharge them. my goal for the accord is to have it running 13 sec 1/4 miles. i plan on doing this slowly as i have limited knowledge about turbocharging engines. but hey that's what people like you are for, you pass on the knowledge and then i do the same. do you know how much more i have to do get it into the 13s and how much power the car will need? i plan on spending around 5-7gs on engine work alone. and is it reliable after all those mods?
5-7g's on engine work alone better net you into the 13's...I was under the impression you just wanted quick instant power.
A guy on here built an h22 and turbo'd it and got something like 400whp, that should be good enough for 13's
. 250whp should be good enough for low 14's high 13's in an accord.
IF you build the motor you can build it to where it can handle a lot of boost but just because its built doesn't mean its bulletproof and you might be replacing parts. Do you want this to be a reliable daily driven car or just a weekend *****? Reason I suggested boosting the f22 was because they are good enough for about 10 psi daily on stock internals, cheap and its different. Only problem is parts aren't AS readily available for the f series versus the h22. Pick your battles
.
I would start searching around using this: https://honda-tech.com/zerosearch as you probably aren't the first person to ask this question
