Default Headlight options

After searching the different posts on headlights I was wondering if anyone has seen any aftermarket headlights that ARE NOT projectors? I really like how the projectors look but the lighting from them sucks. I want something that will be as bright or brighter than the stock light but look better. Maybe something with a clear front lens and a reflector inside instead of the difuser lines on the stock ones.

Any ideas?

Projector headlights sound like your only option. The lighting from projectorheadlights are 100% better.

Anothermoption would just be getting some good bulbs like Sylvania Star. They're like $10 each from Autozone and you won't even need to remove your headlights. Alot cheaper than projector headlights that are about $110 shipped off of eBay.

I'm still going w/ projectors though. Brighter and I like them over the stock headlights.

Those Sylvania lights are garbage. Projectors, are ugly. Heres what you do, get 9005 bulbs any brand you want. Grind the inner guide tabs on the inside, and grind the small ear so it fits in your plug and low beam slot of your headlight. Now you have more power and better lighting. If that isn't enough buy some HIDs like I did.

Or just try some brand new stock bulbs. Kinda like getting a tune up for your headlights, nothing too fancy.

I second that fact about the hids in stock headlights. Blinding as hell. Don't do it!

Oh, I'm sorry for talking out of my ***. I never had HIDs in stock headlights 2years ago. They worked great BTW so I dunno what ebay crap HIDs you had, but I hope you got your money back. Now they are in my JDM headlights, I no longer have high beams nor do I need them. They worked great BTW in my stock headlights. So I dunno what ebay crap HIDs you had, but I hope you got your money back. BTW I hope one day I will be as cool as you.

The Sylvania Silverstars are fantastic bulbs. I have had them in my last four vehicles. One of the first things I do when I get a new vehicle is throw a set of Silverstars in. The light is nice and white, not ricer blue. They also light the sides of the road up better.

I have seen HID's done in stock housings on several USDM Civic/CRX and JDM CRX. If I ever find any I will ditch the inadequate CRX bulbs in favor of the HID's. I also have the high beam bulbs in my low beam sockets and it still seems to be a tad dim.

Also all the HID's I have seen in a stock housing have looked very good.

I still suggest looking into this. Anyone can make a picture look good. but in real life, on coming cars with hids in them that arn't stock, or modified to work will fail miserably. I'v seen a couple people in my town that have done it and being the oncoming car sucks when you can't see jack. Theres a pic floating around on the internet of a car in a garage with hids in stock housings. The beam pattern is everywhere. Like I said before, if you don't know what you are doing, don't do it.

Yeah I've tried the 9005 in the low beam thing and it just seems that they don't get enought power to be truly effective.

I thought about HIDs but have heard bad things about the conversions plus the cops here suck and will nail me for them.

As far as the projecters go every CRX I've seen with them, while they do look sick, they don't put out the light I'd like.

Thanks for all the suggestions

ive done the 9005 conversion with Sylvania Silverstars and i love it... the light is both whiter and brighter than before... also check to make sure all your grounds are good... that can make a difference in the brightness of your bulbs... i am happy with my headlights right now but plan on trying a HID conversion in the future... i will do A LOT of research though... dont want to spend money to make my lights look like crap and get pulled over on top of that
