how hard are you buffing? I don't know about that company, but I know at my skool, when we make carbon fiber, we have the carbon fiber in fabrid (pre-production) and mix in the hardener, which is a sandable epoxy, like bondo, its basically a fiberglass, and you buff it to where it can get close to the strands. How does your carbon hood's clear coat (or hardener) fade in the sun? Maybe if you painted it..

i had it buffed by a professional detail shop with outstanding customer Credintials on the wall. i have buffed in spring/ and mid late summer. and Wax'd at least every 2 weeks with Mothers wax. it started as a little spot and just kept getting worse and worse.

dude that has to be the worst thing ive ever seen in my damn life...... i would go back to the place where you got it and demand that they do something or take it up with them, no hood should ever turn out like that espiscly over a "good" product they have too

how many times have they done this professional wax job on carbon fiber, with an unknown amount of clear on the product. and dont sit here and tell me that fiber images actually cares about the consumer so much that they will actually give you waht you pay for.

every VIS product i have purchased has fit like total ***. my hood did not fit good, my duckbill has got to be the worst fitting i've ever seen, i also ordered a Vis Carbon fiber spoon lip and it was cracked when it got to my house. i never installed it, i just sent it back.

Seibon is next whenever i decide to replace them.

fiber images is the most unstable company ever, every couple years they'll go months without talking to anyone or answering phones or e-mails. Its a family run business and the family is apparantly not too well run either.

WTF??? what kind of advice is that? you can't make a product that can't withstand direct sunlight hours at a time. shitty customer service it seems. damn, that's deterring, considering they've been around for a while.

Or just paint your current hood black.

As for the poster with the jacked up CF hood, just paint it to match the car.

I cant stand seeing cars with CF hoods, just paint that **** to match the car, it looks a hell of a lot cleaner.

ViS was the hot-brand for a long time, and for good reason.
I've heard mixed reviews about some of the newer products... I've heard the quality has gone to ****.
But I know for a fact they have made changes to some of the products to better the overall fit and finish. So it's a tough call

I personally will be going with Seibon. I've seen two hoods in-person and i fell in love.
