After doing a Y8 Intake manifold swap on my D16y7 motor , its idles funny, loopy idle when it fully warmed up on Neutral, the idle faluates between 1000 - 2000 RPM?? weird couldn't figure it out, i tried adjusting the throttle cable and ICAV idle screw still no use. Also its not throwing codes , no CEL. My Y8 IM is a Manual so i plug up the holes where the ICAV suppose to be on the back of the manifold, and i reuse my Y7 fuel rail , injectors and TB. also swap the spring & rotor off a Y8 TB on to the Y7 TB . Can't seem to figure out the annoying idle issue?? do you think its a Vacum leak?? i even JB Weld to plug up the Fuel injector holes
any suggestion guys of what the problem??

check/redo your intake manifold gasket.

 

I had the same problem when i did a z6 IM swap on my Y7...

I had alot of air in my coolant. Try to bleed coolant or refill...

 

Yup might be vacuum.

 

Make sure the cruise control vacuum line is plugged up. It's on the driver's side, bottom corner of the intake manifold. Should be a little brass fitting, slip a small piece of hose over it and plug the hose with a screw. Works perfect.

1. Don't listen to anyone who tries to convince you to plug a vaccum leak with a screw and hose. They have plugs and you can make sure they don't go anywhere with some safety wire.

2. Did you get a 99-00 Y8 mani with the extra air injection holes? If so, you'll need to plug them up. If you want to listen for your air leak, get a hose with enough lenght to move around the engine bay, and put it in your ear. Use it as kind of a stethescope to listen around for air leaks.

 

spray carb cleaner on the top of the manifold, and see if the motor stumbles and sputters if it does your manifold gasket is leaking, or your air injection holes are not filled complety.

A plug would be safer, this is true. I was just trying to give ideas to try, then if it fixes it he can use a better, safer, and more permanent fix. Better than buying supplies only not to end up using them.
