Default Brake light stays on?

Today I was driving and parked my car at Wal-mart. Came out and noticed my brake lights are on. I'm like wtf? Press the brake no change. Check the instrument/tail light fuse and it was good and still changed it anyways. Brake lights did not turn off when I took the fuse out. Tell me what's wrong?

Is it the switch under the brake pedal?

I bet you the rubber stopper on the brake pedal lever came apart...now there's nothing to depress the switch turning your lights off. I've seen it happen on several civics.

They are confused by your title since it says "brake light stays on".

Have you done any wiring lately?

Ah, I guess I didn't make it clear.

Only wiring I've done lately is change out the main relay.

I'd like to know more about this rubber stop on the pedal.
