Default Cable tranny to Hydro tranny (h22 swap to D16)

I'm going to take out my h22 swap and put in a d16y7.

How am I going to fix the shifter area issue? because the area is cut out how will the shift linkage sit? will I need to weld in a piece of metal? anyone have a pic of what it looks like with a stock d16 tranny?

Thank you.

Anyone have any pointers?

Also does anyone know where to get a stock wiring harness?

Pretty sure ur goin to have to make a bracket by welding it an fabricating it urself... One of my friends did opposite, D16 to H22 an because of the mount he had to cut he said he'd never be able to go back to B or D series because of the cuts he made, without fabricating/welding his own mount to where it use to be, but good luck at doin all that headache lol..

best bet is probably to get a whift hump cut out of a car at a junk yard, then just cut out the exact piece you need back at home and weld that **** in.

good luck

Be alot easier to just trade the car or sel it with the H. It is gonna be a BITCH to reverse that swap.

Assuming this H is in a civic, what are you going to do about the missing upper tranny side mount bracket for the D series motor? You cant sell it with a missing mount.

You gonna weld a new one in?

So you see the shifter isnt your only issue.

I will also assume you did not do the H swap yourself, since you did not know this little peice of info.

This is an EK not an EG

It bolts right in.

You just need to change the brackets and mounts, no need to weld/cut anything in the engine bay unlike the EG.

And I did do the swap myself

Hmmm. What mount kit?

Buddy of mine just did the H swap into his EK, and I SWEAR he had to cut that mount.

You got any pics?

EDIT: I have owned 3 EG chassis civics but never an EK chassis, so I tend to think along those lines.

I still think its a bad idea to reverse the swap and sell it. Even just welding in a new shifter plate will need to be disclosed during the sell and that could drop the selling amount drastically, if you dont disclose it and something happens, you are liable for not disclosing it. I would just sell it with the H, trade it with the H, or just keep it.

I'm selling to a friend, he knows the history of the car.

And for those telling me to keep the H, its just not possible for me.

and no, no cutting is involved in the engine bay for an EK

"EK Chassis - No engine bay modifications needed. Cut a 3x4 hole straight down from the stock radio in the floor for the linkage to run through. Enlargen the hole where the stock shifter comes through for the shifter plate clearance."
