the money could have been better spent on a system....that deck just carries the alpine name its power output and features are not good....a kenwood or pioneer in the same price range would put out better power, it only puts out 16x4, a kicker compvr would have been my choice on the sub with the small alpine m350 mono amp

what he said.

i suggest pioneer or panasonic as the head unit. I used to be kenwood freak but i heard panasonic it just blew my mind away. I used to have w1 and w3 jl audio. they have crisp sound but not as loud as the comp vr. Those woofers take some good beatin. AS for the amp yea go with a mono amp. Good luck!

:Flame ON!!:

Okay on what universe did you think he could do better for his budget!!!
What was done was to shop smartly. Lets review:
Deck $150-160 retail
amp $200-225
box $75
parts (dash kit,harness,amp kit,spk wire ) $100
Thats an avg retail cost of $525 !!!

I'm not some keyboard commando. I have been in the 12volt game for
a long while ( i'll give you a hint- cassettes were the rage like ipods and digital
music is today). His choices are PERFECT. The radio output is par with everyone
elses ( and No you can't tell the diff in 2 watts of output). Its statements like this
that have folks all confused and such when the meet me at my store. You owe
him an apology.

Personally I would have spent the money for the sub and amp/amp kit on some good quality front and rear speakers.

BTW I have been doing this since 8 track was the hot ticket.
