well for the past week or two I've been trying to peice together a DECENT BRAND NAME set up. My budget about 200 I went over a little but its all good. Here it is newbies the perfect affordable name brand set up
Alpine CDE-9843 $112+tax brand new from good guys

JL Audio 10w0, 4 ohms, $45 used off some dude on craigslist

Scorpion 10"box $34+tax brand new from good guys

JL Audio e1200 amp, $80 shipped from ebay

and plus wires, harness, dash kit, misc crap $65 or a little more i know before I got a harness and dash kit for 30 not shure the price now, and wires should only cost about 30 i THINK. these pictures just for references

total spent: $$350 to be safe
yup this is the best/most complete set up you can get for 350 bucks and I lucked out cuz I just started getting into beat and good guys is going outta business so I saved some money. if yall see any newbies that have no idea what to get please link them this thread. Thanks!
edit: I think thats all the extra stuff I need harness, dash kit, and wires but I still dont know what kinda wires I need so can someone recommend a perfect kit with all the wires I need thanks

the money could have been better spent on a system....that deck just carries the alpine name its power output and features are not good....a kenwood or pioneer in the same price range would put out better power, it only puts out 16x4, a kicker compvr would have been my choice on the sub with the small alpine m350 mono amp

what he said.
i suggest pioneer or panasonic as the head unit. I used to be kenwood freak but i heard panasonic it just blew my mind away.
I used to have w1 and w3 jl audio. they have crisp sound but not as loud as the comp vr. Those woofers take some good beatin.
AS for the amp yea go with a mono amp. Good luck!

:Flame ON!!:
Okay on what universe did you think he could do better for his budget!!!
What was done was to shop smartly. Lets review:
Deck $150-160 retail
amp $200-225
box $75
parts (dash kit,harness,amp kit,spk wire ) $100
Thats an avg retail cost of $525 !!!
I'm not some keyboard commando. I have been in the 12volt game for
a long while ( i'll give you a hint- cassettes were the rage like ipods and digital
music is today). His choices are PERFECT. The radio output is par with everyone
elses ( and No you can't tell the diff in 2 watts of output). Its statements like this
that have folks all confused and such when the meet me at my store. You owe
him an apology.
