OMFG!! What am i missing???
First to guess what I'm missing gets 2 eprops... bought the car like this.. was always wondering why my car handled like type ****... i know its my fault for not checking out the car before taking it home, but does the seller have any responsibility in helping me put the car back to stock? he claimed it was rebuilt back to type r specs... but was missing lower tie bar, trunk bar, type r exhaust (i think its off an ls) and it only had type r rear shocks/springs and the front 2 were off an ls!!! when I asked why the front sat so high seller claimed "its supposed to be like that" springs/tiebar/trunk bar i can swallow but no sways??!? he didn't even tell me that they were missing. on top of that he claims to be a type r specialist who rebuilds hondas. am i entitled to reimbursement for any of the parts I replaced or at least half? half seems fair to me waht do you guys think?

If it was sold "as is" then they'res technically nothing he's responsable for. IMO get the JDM OEM swaybars and the comptech lower tie and you're good, but thats lame IMO, I'm curious to see if anything else is missing or non ITR parts.
is it 4 lug too?
why would you not look at a car you are buying??
i would kick the seller's ***, but legally i don't think he is resonsible

i already know i shafted myself. i know he's technically not responsible. i'm jsut asking for opinions on whether or not he SHOULD help pay for replacing the parts.
yea its 5 lug and yea it sucks a whole lot .. but i did fly 400 miles to take a look at it, and was in a rush it looked fine in the pictures(lol)... yea i get that part but the trust issue totally throws me off... i even looked at the post in the classifieds and he wrote
Everything replaced w/ OEM Type R Parts
Body is in great condition
Drives and handles excellent
thas a load of bs if u ask me... considering he shoulda known that it drove and handled like **** compared to other Rs if he really is a type r specialist HAH...
as far as the axles are concerned, yea i probably bought it busted like that without knowing but im not gonna hold him responsible for that. BUT if he replaced the sways with at least something that i can sell in exchange for an upgraded sway i wouldn't be as frustrated and as mad as i am now. this whole time i've been driving around in a fake R thinking it was authentic.

probably too much too.
sounds like its a salvage, and the owner stripped whatever he could off of it and still make it look "OK" to the novice.

Id rather be missing 2 bars, and two anti rollbars which are now easily upgraded to JDM or Mugen spec, than have a non OE nasty *** sunroof, mismatching bumpers, a really gross fake wing etc...

in hindsight i paid way too much for it. 13.5k if u really wanna kno at the time tho i wanted an R really badly and i needed a car asap so i went for it. odometer read 38k but that was most likely replaced, the motor probably had 60k+.. owner doesnt even know the exact mileage when he bought it either. i didnt like the idea of that but i wanted an R so i got it. even when i got into i knew it would take some work to get it back to mint condition... i just didn't think it wouldnt' have had swaybars!!

sale wise i signed the dmv papers but he also had me sign another paper saying it released him of all liability. im not really concerned about the legal issue here because i know it was a salvaged car and after the sale was complete he has no liability. im just asking your guys' opinion on whether or not he "should" pay something to replace it. i'm getting the jdm itr f/r sways for 150 w/ endlinks n bushings. thats pretty cheap considering endlinks from the dealer cost ~$50 a piece not a pair.

If the seller did this through a business, file a complaint with the BBB.

That blows. At least you got a pretty blue Cusco front brace
I'll have to agree with Mr. Yummies on this. Just get a JDM ITR rear bar and I believe the front is the same as other DC2 Tegs which could be found at any salvage yard.

Unfortunately there are lying pieces of **** out there that will tell you anything to get rid of the car. You wont get any money back from this guy, he is not legally responsible. Monkey up, Cut your losses, stop being mad, be happy with what you got, get it back to the way you want it, and drive on.... That's the only thing you can do.

But is it even really a Type R? Pics of rest of car?

Actually you may have some recourses.
If the seller sold it as a Type R, then it is suppose to come with all Type R accessories, such as the parts missing on your car. It is against the law to sell an item as one thing, when it is clearly not up to par with what it is being advertised for. The one protection that he [seller] has is, that if he disclosed, at the time of purchase, that those parts are not part of the deal then you would be resonsible for the parts that are missing.
I had a friend who bought a Type R out of Phoenix that was sold without a Type R tranny. It was advertised as a Type R and needed to be that way. Needless to say, with a phone call, he got his type R tranny that was suppose to be there.

I wouldnt think it was that easy.
To the thread starter,
Post a pic of all the paperwork minus your personal info and vin and let us see if you have anything. I doubt you do, but maybe. IMHO if it were me, I would refer back to my previous post.
