Default ...And she's back off the streets  :(

Hey guys what's up.

As you may have seen, I got an 90 integra rs.
Got it with a locked up tranny,

fixed it all ready to go etc...

Drove it for a week and this happened.
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1369423

And then this,
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1403603&page=1

well, After two days it's back offf the streets.
Driving to work and the Pass side axle tore apart (the internals)

Soooo, Looks like it's back off the streets.

I have the feeling I shouldnt be owning a DA, as I had a 1987 Integra ls
It was my dads sisters, then my dads, and then mine. 15 years and never
real problem.

Well, i got this car and sold that car for 600/
And I have apent almost $2,000 fixing this one up.
2K in a first gen integra would have been very very nice.

I can get a SE rx-7 for real cheap. If I can sell my paintball gear for 300 I'll be thinking about it.

Hate to ay it, I love this car and I amd still thinking about it. I'll fix this car and I possible sell t for 2K

I dont know. We'll see, seeing as once I fix this its pretty much been restored.

Worst part it, in the back seat are aftermarket parts,
ES Motor mount insert
Aasco 8lb flywheeel
Coilovers
HP racing 4-2-1 header ( not hear but on it's way)

SO many other things.

so here is how she sits right now.
Very dark pic but I dont have the hubcaps on the fronts, I like them without it,

Later....

Plans for the future If I do fix the car.

Champion Ship White with matching moldings
1 peice headlights
VIS OEM style CF hood
Turbo Kit saab 900 T3 (.42/.48) WG spring 8psi put me about 245WHP.
Full exhuast
Spearco seats
5pt harness
Tokico HP Blues
Yoko rubber

on and on and on.

I'm so close to being done (fixing)with the car I think I might just keep it.

How much did you pay for the car in the first place?

Well, if you would have clicked the likns you would know.

$650 cash, Had a locked up tranny.

I fixed that $250 fo tranny install plus 125 to fix tranny and then $75 they rebuilt the 6puck stage 3 clutch (even tho i didnt aske them to)

Which is still good, KBB value ws almost $2,000 with a blown motor (and mine isnt blown)

Well, The the moron that worked on the susp last did not replace the cotter pics in the ball joint.
Click first link for more information.

So, I decided to buy a full front susp kit offline,

I replaced the driver side (just so i cold get to work)
along woth driver side axle etc...

Well, then the pass. side axle broke,

So, While it's down I'm going to replace the pass. susp
along with installing the coilovers, and other things I have for the car.

$650

$75 tranny
$250 trany install
$120 8lbFlywheel
$60 ES motor mount inserts (I paid an extra $40 for over night,STUPID ME)
$116 for tags
$60 for insurance that month (and $110 for full coverage, not bad)
$65 for tow becuase of balljoint
$$160 for front susp wear kit
$60 for another insurance (oct)
$130 for coilovers
$20 for H Racing 4-2-1 headr, Awsome deal, lol

That's $1,766 right there

I owe my parents $650.
I pay for everything, which is good. Teaches me about money.
I already have a retiremnet fund and I'm only 16, lol

Yah some of it is upgrades
And thats just thw start

I mean I knew people said it's amazing how fast money blows by but, Wow,

and s thats just the start

Seems like everything that can go wrong has....lol, same thing happened when i got mine, 1st the psgr lower balljoint broke, then then engine blew, then my gas tank started to leak...and i was sooo close to getting rid of her, but just made sure when i did my repairs i did everything right and used good parts, so it should last another 10 years.....

At least you still live at home and have ur parents help if u really need it..lucky you

I feel your pain man, I'm 18 and i've been putting all my money into my car. When I was 16 my godmother gave me her 93 LS it was in mint condition, she always had all the acura matenence done. Then I got it and ruined it. It had 80k miles on it. By 100 I put 4 different catbacks on it. 3 headers. Blew the engine. burnt the clutch, and so much other crap. I just got it out of the shop yesterday, went to start it today for the first time in 3 months and found out my modulator in the distrubotor is shot. =[

didn't shake down the front end when you replaced the tranny??? cost more now to fix instead of just a 25 balljoint.

thats what happens when you buy an old car, even though it is a honda its a bitch to fix but it wont ever break again......at least not for another 100,000 miles

if you buy an old rx-7 it wont be any different.....actually worse depending on where you live their may not be any mechanics that can work on rotary engines except for the dealership an they will rip you off

stick with a honda...

i tell ppl that tell me hondas a cheap to drive and maintain...that yes they are cheap to drive and maintain, but not when stuff starts breaking....its like a chain-reaction.
