Alternator ???

Can anyone tell me what the 4 wires that go in the alternator through the green clip do? I really need to know what the white/green stripe wire does. This is on a 97 hatch back. Thanks for all the replys

In the 96-99 Helms ETM: Charging System (USA Models), Alternator plug pin-out:

Pin 1, [Blk/Yel]: V+
Pin 2, [Wht/Grn]: Alternator Control Signal
Pin 3, [Wht/Blu]: Charging System Indicator Light
Pin 4, [Wht/Red]: Alternator FR Signal
