Where can I buy 225/45/15 Toyo RA-1s?
Who knows where to buy them? I am wanting to buy some for the CRX. I want to go the 45 series to in effect "shorten" up final drive (have 4.785) just a wee bit more.
Was starting to look at the new Avon tire in a 225/45/15 too after the Grassroots article. I would get Hoosier if I was not a cheap bastard and felt like I had truly mastered non-abs braking under threshold. It is for track events not "racing" so looking for price, longevity, and decent grip.
Still have several throwaway (hanging out at the tire trailer at club races) 205/50/15 RA-1s to burn off during the remainder of 05.

I've had good luck ordering from him. Bought a couple of sets now...arrived in good time in good order, and at a good price.

another vote for phils, ordered from frisby and had some problems with there shaving. goto phil now and having nothing but good things to say about him. I also get my amsoil from him
You know I hate to shave off perfectly good rubber. The cheap *** in me says go full tread and run them down but then read the stories of chunking or not lasting as long as shaved rubber (All I have ever run on this car is used RA-1s). I have fairly decent tire management discipline (that could be because I am slow.lol) and wonder "to shave or not to shave"? Boy that could be taken out of context.

also, keep in mind that the 225/45/15 R3S04 from Hoosier is more like a 235-240 wide tire. I have not been successful making them fit in the rear of the car (they rub on both the control arm and the fender) Maybe with some really creative fender "rolling" (ahem) they might fit.
You've been warned! ymmv.
PS - I get my tire from Phill whenever I can, good guy, good price, and the toyo 225/45/15 DOES fit on an EF.
