Default Rocket M21 cams in B16?

I was wondering since i would like to build an all motor b16, would the Rocket M21s be a good choice. I've heard the M22s are too big and I saw they had the M21s and they have less duration then the M22. I would also like to know what valves can be used with these cams? Also is the ANR compat header too much for a b16?

The M21's are a turbo cam. In your situation I would do either some pct or S2S1's for your motor. You can tun them with stock valvetrain and valves. The ANR would be a good header for you, not the best.. but good

I was thinking about putting in stage 2 cams, I was gonna go with the omnipower vavetrain for awhile then I noticed the rocket setup. The whole motor is getting rebuilt, I was gonna put in some CTR pistons, but I'm not to sure about that now. I'm thinking about getting a set of JE forged pistons instead of the CTR pistons.

i would get the m22x's and rocket spring/retainer package to match. you also get the modified spark plugs and custom chip with the whole package.

i would say stick with oem valves too. theres really no need for getting aftermarket unless you really need that compression, weight savings, or any other small reason.

pm me for any more?s

Cam choice would depend on the specs and the goals of the motor.

couple of people have dropped m22's in stock motor and have yeilded around 155-160whp without proper tuning. With CR around high 10's i'd say 175+whp

CTR cams like B16's.

M22's like 11.5:1 in a B16.

Anyone else have any input on the ANR header would it be too much for the setup since its the compact merged one?

Personally I don't think you could go wrong with a header unless you were to a buy a header that had too big of primaries for your motor, i.e. puting a custom made 2.0 liter header on a B16. If you were to notify ANR that the header will be going on a B16, and thats what they build it for, in NO WAY will be "over-killing" or hurting the performance of the motor, only improving upon it.

You would want a minimum of 11.5:1 compression to run M22's in a B16.
