Clutch Install. PP Holes Dont Line Up With Flywheel Pins.... wtf
So I felt like putting my clutch and flywheel on mycar this morning. Long story short the PP 3 holes to fit over the flywheel pins dont line up. One will go and then the other 2 are offset about 3/16-1/4", both in different directions so its the closest I can get it
Ive turned it every way possible, not ever gonna fit. Have absolutely no idea what to do myself except grind away and make the holes in the pressure plate a giid bit larger and extend the slots
I dont think thats a great idea though and would probably through **** off
This is all for an 88 Crx Si, D16a6, Clutch Specialties 6puck unsprung

Do NOT grind it, nothing good can come of it. Verify that it's really the right pressure plate, and sometimes it takes a little tapping with a hammer to get it fit over the pins. You're right to turn it around in different directions, just keep trying.
sounds like you are trying to install a 90-91 clutch and pressure plate on 88-89 flywheel - ain't gonna happen - also, if your transmission is 88, you had better check to see if the clutch disc will fit onto the transmission input shaft

Gonna go check to see if this clutch disk fits on my tranny shaft
expletive, something always goes wrong for me

My legs hurts thinking about that. Why did you go with 6 puck unsprung? I have a 6 puck in my car. Its just overkill imo. As soon as that clutch starts getting worn im going back to an exedy clutch. To much strain on the drivetrain.

ive had the same problem before i just pushed the pins out of the flywheel, doing this may cause unwanted vibration. however when i did it i have not gotten the vibration so i am lucky for that. Also about the clutch thats my fav clutch style 6 puck unsprung

Sounds like you have the wrong pressure plate, DO NOT modify it to fit get the right clutch.
Are are you going to be running a 10sec CRX??? that clutch is MAJOR overkill and can actually cause damage to your tranny and other vitals since it is so stiff. That type clutch is for racing only and probalby requires around 300+ horsepower to be needed.
SALE the clutch and get the right noe you need! To many people make the mistake of getting to much clutch thinking, "better too much than not enough" All you need is an Exedy stage 1 or if you really race alot then a stage 2 will handle all the power and burnouts you can throw at it unless you go full blown boost. All the while both these clutches retain a close to factory fell to the pedal. Good luck

sounds like everyone has the right idea, wrong cutch kit. but about how strong the clutch is, it probably is overkill unless your boosted but i dont get why so many people are afraid of a strong clutch, my rx7 has a pretty stiff pedal cause of the clutch and its ok to drive daily. 2 of my buddies daily drive their dsm's with extreme clutches and ive never heard them complain one bit, ive driven both for a while and never really thought twice about it after the initial shock of how hard the pedal was. different strokes i guess.

They ARE overkill if you aren't running enough power for one plus it's just STUPID. It has NOTHING to do with being a p_ssy it has to do with being smart enough to know what type clutch you should run depending on how powerful the motor is and what your intentions are, street/strip, full race, street only...lotta things to consider and it irritates me how many people act like it doesn't even matter. Just get a stage 47 Super Heavy duty carbon'kevlar/unobtanium/blend full blown 10 puck solid disc rocket launching clutch so it will rip the motor right outta the F-in engin e bay, that outta help ya run the 1/4 in 6 secs flat!
