European Civic Type-R(K20 engine - vtec - 200hp) - WHICH SUPERCHARGER?
Hi guys, remember my last post where I was trying to find out what's the best tune for Civic Type-R, you recommended me a small supercharger.
I decided to go with Jackson Racing "race" type SC, but I have a small problem. Since the Civic Type-R(CTR) is not distributed in US(AFAIK) with the VTEC engine, there is no direct support of ECU for this type from Jackson Racing. I thought I'll go with setup for Acura RSX, as the engine should be the same, but ECU is different.
Jackson Racing has a distributor in UK, they do the european version, but they asked for £2700 , that's almost 50% more than US prices
Do you think I could use the K-pro unit with European version of Civic Type-R ?

I think the easiest thing would be to get domestic supercharger parts and k-pro. Then go to competent tuner and have them tune your k-pro.
That set up sounds like a monster! Good luck!

Hondata are very customer service oriented.
If I were you I would correspond with (or ring up) both Jackson Racing and Hondata and ask them if the K Pro will work with what you have in mind.
I am sure that Hondata have enough experience with the many, many CTR swaps in the USDM that they will be able to advise you.

there is nothing like a "competent tuner for K-pro" in here, central Europe( and not because it's a dump
just because people tune european cars here more).
I have to do the ECU tuning and my one of my buds is going to do the mechanical installation.
I definitely need the Jackson Racing SC, that's what the guy who owns the CTR wanted to have this installed.
We are basically doing this as amateurs, and fans of Honda( I have CRX&B16A1 and Civic D16A6 with IHI turbo) so I do have some experiences with ECU tuning.
What I needed to know is what's the best solution in implanting Jackson Racing SC on a European civic type-r....

There is a German CTR running JRSC together with K-Pro and from what I´ve heard so far the car is running fine.
Where are you located exactly?

But you could check with these guys in Switzerland first, they are very experienced with JRSC setups on the European EP3.
