Clicking / clanking sound from the engine's body...
I own a well maintained '91 Accord LX 4dr automatic, with 165,000 miles and an F22A1 engine. I noticed some clicking sound that is fairly consistent but not always audiable. It usually kicks in at 2000 rpm and I can hear it 'till about 3000 rpm. I am not certain if it ceases or the ambient noise is drowning it out. I feel no impairment driving the car. I did have the oil pressure light blinking on three occasions which is an indicator of temporary pressure loss. I have no oil consumption after 4000 miles driving. The valves are properly set and no noise comes from the head. One shop speculated it was a rod bearing, another diagnosed a main crank bearing. Is it? Where or how can I get a good diagnosis? The Honda dealer? How do I proceed? Install a used Jabanese engine? Can I drop the pan and replace the juornals from below? The car is in great shape, no rattles and squeels, no wrinkles and all is working well. I would like to save the car but money is a factor... Can anyone help with pointers?

Look man.... if you've been taking care of your honda, why get rid of it just like that....? so anyway.... Visit a few different places, check the prices, and don't sattle down with the first mechanic that says something....
I don't think 165k miles is a lot for those cars... mine had 230 and was running stronger than many 05's out there.. for real man.... lol
Anyway.... good luck~
