Default Chewed up GSR Tranny in my EG *PICS*

I have an LS with a GSR tranny... right now both engine and tranny are out of the car.... The problem was it was clicking already.... i thought it was the tranny... so When it was in first.... I popped the sucker in 2nd and when it did... it freakin just stopped.... litterally stopped.... wouldn't go forward after i went to 2nd... then when i tried pushing it off the road it just ricocheted(whatever you spell it) backwards, making it difficult to go forward... 80 dollars on tow truck

Here is how it looks... I'm not sure what these gears are... i know for sure one of it is the final gear... but can you find out which is which for me... here it is

Exhibit A:

Exhibit B:

naw they show detail.

Holy crap! I mean those gears are tough, you have to work to get those to break. What happened? Did somethin cause them to vibrate and the shafts push on each other? What caused it? What could have? More info.

So wait, the trans was clicking to began with, and you popped it into second ? Sounds like you knew there was a problem, so you dumped the clutch from 1st to second and made it worse.

When was the last time you added fluid ? We need more details, cause a normal transmission will not just do that.

When I drained the tranny fluid I only got about 1.5 qts of tranny fluid... and it look like gunmetal paint... could it be because of low tranny fluid??? I was told that it takes a lot to brake the teeths of the tranny.... Anyways can anyone identify the parts for me? or if i'm able to figure out how much it'll cost to get these two parts replaced... somehow... yea it probably will be expensive but it's hard to come by a GSR tranny in my area... or even any hydro B series except LS trannies... but yea anything will help... Shout out to the low tranny fluid (i guess)

Who was driving the car ? Did a friend drive it ? Low trans fluid will not cause that, but low trans fluid, and beating on the car will.

Don't let your friend drive your cars. He did something bad, not just a normal shift.

From what you say, it seems that your friend was beating on your car... low transmission fluid isn't a good thing, but it still wouldn't cause that.

That looks messy, and the color of your tranny fluid was due to all that metal being in there. I would honestly take it so someone that knows tansmissions man. If you are not sure what part it is I would not try to do anything on your own, transmissions can be a real PITA.

Salvage whatever gears were not chewed up and sell them individually. Do the same with the casing and anything else salvagable; I wouldn't deal with trying to piece that mess back together, but seriously the toughest part of putting the transmission together is getting the damn snap-ring on the countershaft, at least for D's.

Low tranny fluid didn't cause that failure......

wheelhop in first gear did. it chpped a tooth (the clicking) then someone BEAT DA expletive out of a hurt tranny and killed it.........

Part it out, don't even try to fix.......

Yea I know it wasnt the tranny fluid but it was mentioned and it reminded me I need to check/change mine.

I will take care to make sure I dont lauch w/ wheel hop from now on though. I dont want my tranny looking like that.

i wouldnt even bother taking it to a shop ... its evident you need a new tranny ... low fluid and burn out's power shifting ... racing your self lol .... all that causes tranny failure .... you need some driving class's rookie .... just get a new tranny it would be cheaper lol ...

My brother let his retard friend drive his nearly 160whp b18b'd crx while he was selling it - the dumbass powershifted with a 6 puck clutch into 2nd. Soaked the highway with fluid, and cost my brother a lot (kid's dad tried denying his kid's fault).
