the difference lies in the p28 having the additional hardware necessary to trigger the VTEC solenoid. if you want to know how, search the wiki over at pgmfi

THC, (that stand for Tetrahydrocannabinol?)
It's all documented on the pGmFi.OrG wiki. Honestly, Honda-Tech isn't the place to start learning about ECU chipping. I would recommend heading over to http://WWW.PGMFI.ORG and going to the WIKI and finding the "ECU Chipping 101" Article. Good luck with your endeavors!

Both boards are essentially the same, the p06 just doesn't have the relay-thing to activate vtec. When the components are added, it functions just like a p28. To use vtec and p28 maps, you need a p28 chip put in the socket.

Damn i would have never thought of that. Googled it and you had to be a science major to have figured that out or be a major in what it is
Either way like said already PGMFI.org is the place to be. Thats how i learned.

Yes, if you have converted a P06 to VTEC (added the necessary components) the Spoon chip will run EXACTLY the same as it would in a P28.
If you need me to convert your P06 or have tech questions email me at kenji211@tampabay.rr.com

If i were to get a po6, what would be the steps to convert. is this somthing that i can do? do i just have to run wires to ecu form somewhere?
If you know of a web site that can teach me all i want to know about ecu's please let me know. im trying to learn all this good stuff, so when i get my smogtech lic. i can do ecu coversions.

p2p isn't worth much in the chipping/tuning industry. OBD-2 ECUs are a much different design. head on over to http://www.pgmfi.org and check out the WIKI and find the article labelled "ECU Chipping 101" to get started chipping (which you would have to do to add VTEC), then you can find the articles on the same WIKI/web site for info on converting to VTEC. honestly, Honda-Tech isn't the place to learn about chipping ECUs, rather it is PGMFI.ORG. good luck!
