Default need help from the foglight experts please

hi.. i finally got my jdm foglights to work.. i got this harness from a guy and he said it was off a rhd eg6 so i said ok.. wires didnt match up so i was like ok i could figure this out.. i did but after a few minutes the lights turn off and the switch stops working.. does anyone know wat is wrong.. its hooked up right to the battery and straight to the switch so i could turn it on whenver i want.. please help me out..

sounds like u are burning up the switch. u need to run a relay. the 12v from batt. into relay and out to what u need power to. then a gound wire from relay and the a wire from an acc. to the switch then to the relay. then i would work when ever the switch was on and wont over heat the switch.

yeah i have a relay.. theres a ground wire coming off the relay then after the relay theres another harness going into the cabin that goes straight to my switch..

not exactly following ur wiring. do u have the 12v from the batt. going straight to the switch?

sorry.. theres a wire coming from my relay going to the battery.. then theres wires from the relay going into the cabin for my switch

oh yeah i wanted to get the switch to light up too cuz it wont light up.. i'll have a diagram of how its wired up tomorrow..

Is there a fuse holder anywhere in the foglight wiring? If there is, check the fuse.

yeah there is a fuse.. theres a power wire from the relay to a 20amp fuse then a power wire straight to the batt.. will have a diagram today hopefully.. its kinda raining outside

OEM foglights don't hook directly up to the battery. I have EG6 foglights and the wires plugged up to the fusebox, where the foglights gets power from.

i know they are supposed to wire into the fusebox but i didnt get the jdm harness with the jdm foglights..

Here you go.. my write up should help you. For the Signal wire connect that to the spot under the dash and your foglights will work just fine.

sorry i forgot to label the switch.. its the one with 2 red/blacks, 2 blacks, and the red/yellow..

ok.. i if i run the red wire from the 87 on the relay to the first red/black and to the red/yellow.. then run the yellow wire from the fogs to the second red/black on the switch will that all work??

Pin 30--- goes to battery
Pin 87--- should split to + terminal on foglights.
pin 85--- Ground
Pin 86--- to interior to the fuse box


My fogs are getting HID's in them tonight...

ok i was thinking of something else too.. i was thinking of taping into the side corner and somehow get a switch to turn them off when i want.. will this work??
