CRX Si has NO Heat???????
Just got it together and 1st off let me say that this thing is a Freakin BLAST to drive!!! It's pretty peppy, great gas mileage, plus Honda Reliability.
But it has no heat??? We keep crackin the bleeder and topin it of with a/f but still nothing. Switches seem to be workin fine, and all hoses seem to be ran right. We drove it around for a few hours yesterday and it never got hot or anything like that indicating a pocket of air in the system, and nothing was leaking, BUT today a leak developed behind the timing cover. The only thing back there is the Water Pump Right? And would a bum pump cause it to have no heat??? Thanks in Advance......

We'll have to check that out then. I also saw somewhere that the flap that lets the air pass over the core might not be functioning correctly.
If you mean no heat in the cabin then there is a valve under the dash that seems to be shut. If your temp **** is not working that is what is wrong, you will have to manually adjust it by hand. Make sure the heater valve is open under the hood by the firewall next to the carcoal canister. If you drove your car for a few hours without overheating then your car was warmed up. It sounds like your temp **** on your climate control is bad.
there is also a valve right before the heater core in the bay. It's right below the fuel filter. That will also cause no heat...I know because mine didn't work when I got it.

Yup, that valve is working corectly ( we checked) and my **** seems to be working as well. We're gonna change that pump and check that flap out and go from there. That HAS to be it! I don't know what else it would be???

i guess i assumed he had made sure the temp gauge showed hot.

No, the temp gauge is right where it should be. It's not shooting up to hot or anything indicating a pocket of air in the system. And we keep cracking the bleeder but nothing comes out besides a lil squirt or a/f......
Well, we got the pump in and it doesn't leak anymore, BUT it still doesn't have heat. I reached under the dash and played with that flap some and yea, the **** wasn't moving it so I manually moved it over and then heat started coming out BUT it's not blazing hot or anyhting I'd consider to be average, it's heat, but not that great. And it comes and goes. It gets cool then a lil bit warmer then cool again etc....... We think it's low on anti-freeze but I pop the cap off and can't put anymore in cause it's already full, and there's no air coming out of the bleeder just straight a/f. Lil cold around here already, I'd like to have heat!! lol
Gonna try a thermostat this weekend cause I was thinkin it might be some kind of Funky Japan only one. Like everything else with this stupid motor. We couldn't use the INtake AND exhaust manifolds, Dizzy, Alternator, forget about the harness, and the water pump already took a ****. WTF!!!!??? Well, what did I expect for $400+$185 Shipping.....
Also, My **** IS broken, cause it's not moving either the flap under the dash or the valve in the engine. I don't give 2 ****'s about that though cause it's just as easy to manually move those 2. But hopefully the thremostat is like stuck open and it's not letting the motor get hot enough to "Burp" the bubble out.......

Have you thought about the heater core??? could be on it's way out. As long as your bottom rad hose gets as hot as the top hose you will know the thermostat is good, if so the only thing I think is left is the heater core. good luck
DAMMIT!!!! lol. So I take it this is a common problem then? If I can't figure it our then I'll just sell the car. I can't be driving around this winter with no heat. Sucks cause the Car is awesome. Clean Fun to drive, a ton of new parts. Maybe someone from down south will want it, that way they won't have to a need for much heat!! hahaha
Damn, that sucks to hear. These cars are pains in the *** sometimes to diagnos but once they are running/working right they are like none other when blasting down the road.
Yea, I'm fresh out of ideas and so is EVERYONE I talk to about it. And I just don't have the money to send it to a dealer or something. I just got done fluching the heater core and it's actually blowing hotter than before but I still don't think it's the right car for me. I'd love to keep it cause like i said it's an awesome car and I probably won't get my hands on another Si for a while, but it's not that good of a Commuter. It's lowered so it rides like a lowered car and has an exhaust so the drone really gets to ya after driving 50 mins to work, plus I just can't seem to keep my foot off the gas so the mileage isn't where I though it would be!! lol I'd rather have a Clean Bone Stock Hatch to drive back and forth. Score a Un-Molested one off some old dude! That'd be sweet......
