are you on some thing. i think your trippin. it wont match up
DOHC ZC & z6 head wont. that would be stupid to do anyways.
I belive the SOHC ZC pistons are Domed, (rumor) and this will create a even higher compresson on a mini-me a6.

the sohc is a d16a6 simple as that but its a jdm d16a6 that has 10 hp more but i doupt it has domed pistons hondacrx has one ask him to take off his head and check
as for the question havent u been around for a good period of time? u ask questions u know u shouldnt ask. Why is that im not trying to be a dick but i think u know that a zc is a dohc motor and totally diff block all together and if u read any of the posts ud also know that the sohc zc is the same as a us zc but the head is diff to my knowedge. And u should know better than to ask about quarter mile times u know everyones gonna go abck and forth about some crap.

hmmm... i doubt that a SOHC head will even bolt onto a DOHC block.. why would someone want to do this anyway?? If im not mistaken, arent there some sohc ZC vtec motors (rare)?? if so.. thats probably what you saw. if not.. why in the world would someone want to do that to a dohc ZC motor? that would be straight up stupid. i think this has been covered before. dohc ZC/vtec NOT POSSIBLE.. and why the hell would you want to do that anyway?

if you want to do it you have to use a 96 and up sohc vtec head cause that is the only one that will bolt up right, i was going to do that but i want ls-vtec, it is a good start but i would suggest to build the bottom a little bit, cause you do not want to go through all that trouble and have some **** blow up or spin a bearing or something, those rod bearings spin after 9200 rpm's good luck

your talking bout a sohc zc trust me, and i seriously doubt the block has dohc stamp on it. My block says d16(something)zc
your just seeing the zc and assuming its a dohc, but no sir they did come in sohc form. I just cant see putting a sohc vtec head on a zc block, that would look pretty ghey, big block then it tapers at the head? no way dude, but hell prove us wrong, post a pic

There IS such thing as a SOHC ZC motor. It's some weird JDM SOHC engine. I've seen it listed as a 1.5 some places, and a 1.6 in others. I saw a 1.5 SOHC japanese ZC motor once at a shop, but didn't really pay too much attention to it. Do a search on it... I'm pretty sure it's been covered before
Yeah its called the US Si motor aka D16A6 not a ZC.. Of all the years ive been in this buisness I have never heard anyone call a D16A6 a SOHC ZC. ZC was meant for one motor and it was the DOHC 1.6 NON VTEC JDM CR-X Si EF7. The ones before that were 1.5L and 1.5X which were D15B7's. There were no " JDM SOHC ZC mumbo jumbo crap " i hear you guys always talk about.
EF2- D15B 4 Door Civic
EF3- Civic Si DOHC ZC Motor
EF6- D15B 1.5L CRX 15X/15X-G Special
EF7- DOHC 1.6 non-vtecZC CRX Si
EF8- DOHC 1.6 VTEC CRX SiR
EF9- DOHC 1.6 VTEC Civic SiR
So IF I listed ALL the EF's made in Japan that year with the motor specs of what car came with what motor.. SOMEONE tell me where they got this idea of this SOHC ZC Mumbo Jumbo Crap.
Man, you guys are soo locked in your ways, and won't beleive anything new. I bet five years ago none of you would beleive a B16 would fit into a CRX. Anyways, I know I've been over this before here, but go http://www.superhonda.com/forum/show...&threadid=6618 and check it out for your self. I have put a DOHC head on a SOHC block, and there's no reason it won't work the other way. It's not a direct bolt on because of the oil passages, but the bolt pattern is the same.

it is possible to pit a sohc vtec on a dohc zc block, i know i know people that have done it and i was going to do it too,the 96 sihc is the only one that has the same bolt pattern as the dohc zc,
dude its sittin in my car right now, damn it its times like this i wish i had a digicam. Ive heard its rated at 118hp, now short of someone mating a sohc head onto a dohc block which i dont think is possible, the motor sittin my car right now sure enough is a sohc zc, its stamped with the zc on it, d16(something)ZC, actually you can see it when you come to mariofest2.

Exactly, and everyone probably didn't beleive you then right? Just like no one will beleive this can be done because it's more work than just bolting it together so the rumor got started that it can't be done, and look where we are now.
thats affirmative.. it was a big WTF that cant happen.. or Photoshop king here.. and along the line of that BS. whatevers waht i know and you dont doesnt make a difference.. i just need to know and believe what i can base facts around
